Environment
In spite of the little impact produced by its activities on the environment and as a result of the Management’s commitment to minimise this impact, SIMENSA, in 2004, integrated an Environmental Area within the Quality Area, which is in charge of the global management of the environment in our company.
SIMENSA carries out environmental diagnoses in order to know the current situation of its factories with respect to the environment, and to establish action plans for their total adaptation to the required standards. SIMENSA is currently in a phase of implementation of improvement actions that were identified after the environmental diagnoses were carried out.
As part of this improvement work, AENOR certified (November 2004) the Environmental Management System based on the ISO 14001 standard, which will allow the development and implementation of the guidelines of the Environmental Policy.
QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY:
- SIMENSA undertakes to go beyond strict compliance with current legislation, the requirements associated with the product and established by the reference standard, those of the client, legal and regulatory and OTHER REQUIREMENTS THAT THE ORGANIZATION SUBSCRIBES and maintain a formal environmental management system that allows it to achieve a continuous improvement of its environmental performance, maintaining the quality of the service and at a competitive price, promoting maximum respect for the environment.
- Each employee contributes with quality and self-responsibility in their work in achieving customer satisfaction (external and/or internal).

SIMENSA undertakes to take measures to prevent the illegal and unethical supply of metals (Tantalum, Tin, Tungsten, Gold and Cobalt) from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and neighboring countries. To this end, SIMENSA asks its suppliers to comply with the Dodd-Frank regulations and, in this regard, to implement processes aimed at ensuring that no metal contained in its products comes from mines in the Democratic Republic of the Congo or surrounding regions. It asks its suppliers to determine the origin of the specific minerals and, to that end, to convey this requirement through its own supply chain and if it is aware that a supplier, whose supply chain includes metals from conflict zones, will take appropriate measures to remedy the situation. The countries mentioned are: Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, Republic of congo, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
